I know who you are
I see you. I know who you are. Want me to tell you what I see?
You see we probably haven’t met but at this point I can pretty confidently say I know you better than you know yourself.
Even though we’ve never even spoken I know that you are brave. Oh my word, you are brave. Every day you wake up and enter the day even though you know you will be misunderstood, ignored, pushed around, wound-up, stressed out by a bunch of people, mostly unknowns, who all make you feel like a stranger in this world.
I know that are trying. Trying so incredibly hard to do better, be healthier, eat well, love more, be kinder, gentler, calmer, more successful, more abundant. You are trying to be the very best version of yourself that you can. And I know that you constantly feel like you are failing.
I know you are often blinded to the beauty around you by a world gone mad with bureaucracy. I know you are just trying to keep your head above the enormous demands placed on you to keep a job, a home, do a tax return, read all the right parenting books, keep up with current affairs, pay parking fines, fill in forms, forms, millions of pointless, tree-wasting forms.
I know you want to be seen, really seen and profoundly understood. For someone to take the time to listen and appreciate.
I see you. I love you. I love you because I know you.
You are me. You are the very essence of me. You, you and you and I are one. Welcome home. It’s good to know you. When you know how good it is to know yourself then everything will start to fall in to place.
