It's time to review your New Year's Resolutions…This is where I am with mine!
When I wrote about New Year’s resolutions way back in January I divided opinion. Some people love big resolutions because it keeps them accountable. They are probably also the kind of people who are seriously self-motivated and more importantly put systems in place to keep them on track. That’s about 1% of people, or like me, like most people about 1% of the time!
Most people think resolutions suck and even if they make them in a hungover haze on new year’s day,, quickly abandon them.
As I said right up front way back in January, WE LOVE RESOLUTIONS here at Lightworker Institute. They are evidence that you want to progress your life’s journey and are willing to stretch and be positively challenged.
In fact, resolutions are innocent. They are neither good nor bad. It’s the thinking around your resolutions that determines their merit in your life.
A quarter of the way through the year and I really want to check in with the resolutions I made back in January. You can check them out here. In fact all my little ‘action’ based resolutions (i.e do this, don’t do this) were simply to serve a meta-resolution. That BIG goal was to live my life from LOVE TOWN! Oh yes, it’s a place and I have visited often but have rarely been able to stay for long. in 2015 I committed to moving in. But you can’t set up in Love Town and live an ordinary, separate and isolated life. You’ve got to get out there and party with Love! You’ve got to picnic with Love. You’ve got to clean the toilets with Love. Love moves in with you as much as you move in with it.
Right now, I would say I’m a temporary resident in Love Town. I haven’t quite figured out how to make this my permanent home although I am trying really hard. Brick by brick I’m building myself a little abode.
As for all the little resolutions? Well, I can’t do a handstand yet. I’m green smoothie-ing most days. I’ve redoubled my commitment to intermittent fasting for my overall health and well-being. I have failed to quit sugar BIG TIME. And I am writing every day including my soon to be released guidebook for living with happiness and purpose (I’ll let you know when you can get your hands on a copy!).
I could have come up with 100 more of these lovely life goals. They are simply markers on the path to the LOVE goal, which really isn’t a goal at all is it? It’s not even a path. If anything, it’s the pathless path. It’s the all and the everything.
What I know I need to keep me on this pathless path is a system. Brendon Burchard speaks about the importance of systems and frameworks all the time. Frameworks show us the way forward when we can’t see it yet for ourselves. They are the discipline and commitment we haven’t yet cultivated within our own beings. They are the lights that guide the way.
With this in mind, we have a system called the 30 Day Cleanse and we’d love you to check it out. We know it gives you the foundation you need to cultivate that inner commitment to Self.
