The deadly serious issue of fencesitting
It is no joke that I had been sitting on the fence for so long that I actually believed that the fence and I were wedded for life. I convinced myself that this nicely awkward spot was made just for me and unlike everyone else in the world who was straddling the fence I was very happy doing so. I tried to make myself believe that I was actually privileged for being able to see both sides (ahem).
The truth was much less pretty. In fact to put it bluntly, I had a fence pale up my butt and I was desperately trying to make it seem like a good choice! Running from yourself is never a good choice.
Fear, of course, kept me on the fence and kept me hobbled and unable to admit my own unhappiness.
Are you sitting on the fence? Here is a simple test to tell.
Are you happy?
If the answer is yes then you are not a fence-sitter.
If the answer is no then you have a serious case of fence-sitting that could prove fatal. Luckily the cure is cheap and readily available. Be bold. Jump. The choice has already been made. You, like me,
have simply been hiding from it.
Life is blessedly short. Don’t waste it with a stick up your butt.
